Nancy Kaye Annen of Appleton, Wisconsin passed away suddenly of natural causes on September 27th, 2024.
Nancy was born to Earl and May Smith on March 3rd, 1939 as the youngest of ten brothers and sisters. After graduating from high school in Niantic, Illinois, Nancy took a job at the local newspaper, the Decatur Herald. It was not long after that when she met Harold Annen who was a member of the United States Air Force. The couple were married September 27th, 1957, and started off on an adventure together.
Along the adventure, three children were born. Harold Jr, was born in California, while Thomas and Iola were born in England. The family returned to California and then finally served in South Dakota . After retirement from the Air Force in 1971, the family moved to Appleton, Wisconsin. It was there that Nancy and Harold chose to settle, and they purchased their first home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, and her husband.
Nancy was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She taught her family many lessons including forgiveness, caring, kindness, a sense of humor and to always keep learning. She was very proud of her three children and her grandchildren, Ellen, whom she raised like a daughter, and William. She was very close to her faith and read her daily devotional, as well as reading the Bible from beginning to end each year. Nancy not only read it, she lived by it.
Her commitment to family will be missed, but now she is with her God and her husband.
