Nancy Callaway,62, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at Matthews Senior Living, Darboy. Nancy was born in Dane County, on February 15, 1956, to Edward and Shirley (Schuster) Spoerre. Her early life was spent living in rural Kieler. She met her husband Steve Callaway in 1974 while attending the University of Wisconsin - Platteville. They were married on July 31, 1976. She worked in the food services industry at various facilities and restaurants. Nancy was active in the Cub Scouts as a leader for her son. She attended car shows with the family helping prep and show their 1958 Metropolitan. She enjoyed traveling with the family throughout the country.
She is survived by her husband Steve; children: Aaron (Stephanie Pagel) Callaway and Heather (Brandon) Stascak; granddaughters: Gwen and Bri Callaway; sister: Patricia (Brian) McConnell; niece: Jessica (Jason) Dahlke; nephews: Robert Struve and Scott (Jean) Callaway; 6 grandnephews and grandnieces.
She was preceded in passing by her parents.
A memorial gathering will be held from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the Wichmann Funeral Home – Laemmrich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee St., Menasha. In lieu of flowers and other memorials, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in Nancy’s name via https://tinyurl.com/y6uzojrv.
The family would also like give thanks and appreciation to all of the staff and caregivers at Matthews of Appleton for all the help, care, and friendship they provided Nancy over her years of residence.
