JENSEN, NADINE R.
Nadine R. Jensen, of the Town of Harrison, age 81, died comfortably at home on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 after living with pancreatic cancer for the past nine months. She was born on February 15, 1927 in Appleton, to the late Alvin and Inez Greunke. Nadine graduated from Appleton West High School, Class of 1945. On July 21, 1948, she married LaVahn Jensen sharing more than 59 years together. He is a loving and devoted husband who took great care of her during this trying time. Together they had three children: Jeanne (Doug) Denning, Arlington, VA; Gary (Joan) Jensen, Town of Harrison and Mark (Karen) Jensen, Markesan, WI; grandchildren: Warren and Glen Denning, Arlington, VA; Chrystal Wesenberg, Milwaukee; Adrian and Trevor Jensen, Markesan. Nadine was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all of us.
She is further survived by her brothers: Tom (Peg) Greunke and Jim (Mary) Greunke; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Delores Greunke; Wayne (Pat) Jensen; Kathleen (La Vern) Weishoff; Jim (Judy) Jensen; Elmer VandenBoogaard and Bill Jensen. Nadine is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Greunke; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Opal VandenBoogaard; Geraldine Jensen; Bea (Joe) Kneiss and Joyce (Birnam) Walker.
Nadine's first love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to cook, play bridge, croquet, card and board games. Nadine especially loved living at the lake for the past 55 years, spending winters in Florida, and doing crossword puzzles.
As a lifelong member, funeral services for Nadine will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 16, 2008 at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 209 S. Allen Street, Appleton with Revs. Kurt and Mary Beth Kovanen officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri-County Chapel and again at church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church are appreciated.
