Myrtle A. Aird

Age 85, of Appleton, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2008, at Franciscan Care Center under the auspices of Theda Care at Home Hospice.
Myrtle was born November 24, 1922, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to James and Alice (Godden) Hales. She was united in marriage to Clifford Aird on May 14, 1944, in Toronto. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2003.

The Aird family moved to Chicago in 1957, and Myrtle was a stay at home mom. Together they were blessed with five children. Clifford's different sales positions through the years had the family on the go. They lived in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Florida, and in 1998, both Myrtle and Clifford moved in with their daughter, Diane, in Appleton.

Myrtle is survived by her children, Diane Metko, Janet Tarneja, Brian (Cecilia) Aird, Debbie Button, and Kevin (Rosalyn) Aird; her grandchildren, Ron (Kim) Metko, Scott Metko, Laura (Mike) Dietzen, John (Vicki) Metko, Sheila Tarneja (Darryl McIntyre), Christopher (Lisa) Aird, David (Jeanette) Aird, Jeremy (Violet) Aird, Briana Aird, Shannon Conforti, David, Jessica, and Jacob Button, and Kyle, Amanda, and Tammy Aird; her great grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan, Marissa, Tyler, Aaron, Morgan, Kayla, Ryan, Rebecca, Jenna, Kia, Brandon, Zachary, Melinda, and Joseph;
Myrtle is further survived by her brother, James Hales, and she was preceded in death by a sister, Eva, and brothers, Wesley, Percy, and George.

Private family services for Myrtle will be held. Urn burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Myrtle's name may be sent in care of Wichmann Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Unit 4 at Franciscan Care for their wonderful and compassionate care these last years and to all the beautiful people that Myrtle had met. Also thanks to Theda Care Hospice and nurse Suzie for their services provided to her.
