Appleton

Myron F. Renier, 83, passed away on December 15, 2024 after a longstanding history of Parkinson’s and Lewy Body dementia. Myron was born on September 13, 1941 in Door County, Wisconsin to Elmer and Lena (Rass) Renier.

Myron had an outgoing personality and enjoyed being around people, often with a good story to tell. His personality allowed him to excel as a salesperson, a job he enjoyed very much. After graduating from Brussels High School Myron received a certificate in retail management from the Green Bay Vocational School. Myron served his country as a member of the Army Reserve which was a six year commitment after his basic training was completed. He achieved the rank of a Specialist 5 sergeant.

Myron started his working years an assistant manager in the men’s department at Montgomery Wards in Green Bay, WI. In 1970, Myron started his own men’s clothing store in Brillion, WI. During that time, he was a member of the Brillion’s Lion’s Club, the JayCee’s and the Chamber of Commerce. He was also very involved with the Brillion Conservation Club, serving as the president at one time.

After five years in business, Myron sold his clothing store and started working as an outside salesman for Endries Fastner Company. Myron continued his career in the Fastener Industry until five years before retirement, when he went to work for Best Craft Furniture Company. Myron retired at age 62 and spent those years enjoying fishing with his friend Bill from Brillion, doing the yard work at his country home north of Appleton and spending time in his work shed. He also went to his cottage in Lakewood. His dad would often accompany him and they would spend a lot of time fishing.

Myron is survived by his wife of 60 years, Audrey; his children Mary (Todd) Schwieso, Craig (Christy) Renier and Lance (Wendi) Renier. His grandchildren Megan (Elroy) Perkin and their daughter Primrose, Haley (fiance Brendan)Schwieso, Lexi (special friend Christian) Renier, Autumn (special friend Jordan) Renier, Jett Renier, Madelyne Renier, and step grandsons Travis (Mara) Nelson and their children, Carter, Bently and Eila and Tyler (Mandi) Nelson and their son Aydan. Myron is further survived by a sister Myra (Wayne) Albert of McFarland, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Lena (Rass) Renier.

The family would like to thank the staff at Peabody Manor for the care they gave Myron during his years long stay as well as his sister-in-law Cyndi for all the Tuesday mornings she spent with Myron, taking him to breakfast when he was up to it and all the visits she made to the nursing home to feed him. A volunteer organization called Challenge the Outdoors had mentors who took Myron hunting and fishing when he was no longer able to do that on his own and the family gives them a heartful thanks as well.

No funeral is planned. In lieu of flowers, please consider a charitable donation to Challenge the Outdoors, Inc. 901 Anderson Dr., Green Bay, WI 54304.
