Muriel A. Manthey 75 passed away peacefully on March 30, 2017 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton, WI. She was born on April 6, 1941 to the late Frederick and Irene (Kremmer) Manthey in Rhinelander, WI. She attended grade school at First German Ev. Lutheran School, Manitowoc, WI. attending high school and college at Dr. Martin Luther in New Ulm, MN., where she earned her Bachelor's in Teaching. She spent the next 40 years teaching at WELS Christian Elementary School; Grace Lutheran in Neenah and St. Paul Lutheran in Fort Atkinson, WI. She loved to teach art, read cooking books, make people laugh with her sense of humor, listening to music, and spending a life of service helping others. She was very devoted to her faith and her church being a part of the St. Luke Choir, a member of St. Luke Prayer Team, and a dedicated Sunday School Teacher. Her faith in Jesus Christ guided and directed every part of her life.
She is survived by her siblings; Miriam (Jerry) Gronholz, Appleton, WI., Elsa Manthey, Little Chute, WI., Gretchen (Mark) Boehme, Seminole, FL., and Pastor Marcus (Barbara) Manthey, Saginaw, MI., along with many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Syda Reinhard.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at ST. LUKES EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH 705 E. Greenfield Dr. Little Chute. Visitation will be from 9:30 until time of service at 11:00.
Memorial can be directed to St. Luke Church, WELS Missions or Training School.
