Age 84, passed away on Thursday, September 06, 2001, at Appleton Medical Center. Murcile was born on November 24, 1916 in Strum, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Lloyd and Grace (Dutter) Anderson. She attended Eau Claire High School, then continued on to graduate from Eau Claire State University, with a Bachelors and Masters Degree. Murcile loved to teach, and taught in the Eau Claire and Appleton School Systems for 33 years. She married Axel Nelson on June 25, 1960 and he preceded her in death on June 2, 1995. Murcile was a member of the Outagamie Retired Educators, Y.M.C.A Garden Club, Fox Valley Technical Home Makers, Sons of Norway, Grace Lutheran Church and Fellowship, Outagamie County Historical Society, the Appleton Senior Citizens Group, and the American Association for Retired Persons. Murcile was a devoted wife, and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her family and friends, and flowers from her garden. She also enjoyed traveling around the world. Murcile will be greatly missed by her son, Frank (Janet) Walker, and their children, Chadwick and Caroline Rae, Appleton; her daughter, Nancy (Jeffery) Hacker, and their children, Nicholas and Kristen, Appleton. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Warren and Marshall Anderson. Murcile is further survived by a dear sister-in-law, Hazel Anderson, Strum; and many close cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and wonderful neighbors. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, September 10, 2001, at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 900 North Mason Street, Appleton, with Rev. Todd Murken officiating. The entombment will be held at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, September 9 from 4 – 8 p.m., and again at the church on Monday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to benefit the Grace Lutheran Christian Day School are appreciated.
Once upon a memory, someone wiped away a tear, held us close and loved us. Thank you Mother Dear. You will be truly missed by all who have known and love you.
