God’s angels took Joyce to her heavenly home on September 1, 2021. Joyce was born on January 12, 1934 to John and Rose (Kuehl) Redman in the Town of West Bloomfield, Waushara County. She graduated from Weyauwega High School in 1952. Joyce was married to Ronald A. Christensen on June 30, 1956. She worked in the main office of Kimberly Clark Corporation in Neenah for 5-1/2 years and then stayed home to raise her family.
Joyce and Ronald were foster parents in Winnebago County for 21 years. When Joyce retired from that in 1984, she went to work at AAL Insurance Company where she was employed as a claims processor for almost 13 years before retiring on February 28, 1997.
Together, Joyce and Ronald had 4 beautiful children and were fortunate enough to adopt one son. Joyce donated almost 20 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross before health would not allow her to donate anymore. She loved gardening, nature, polka music, dancing, and traveling – especially her many trips to Florida. She felt so fortunate to build a new home in Wild Rose and was very blessed with wonderful neighbors in both Wild Rose and Wautoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, special companion of 5 ½ years (Raymond Gosz), 3 sisters (Doris Fenske, Ramona Gallegos, and Geneva Koehler), 1 brother (Douglas Redman), 2 brothers-in-law (Gordon Fenske and Leroy Koehler) and other friends and family. She leaves behind 5 children: Michael (Sandy) Christensen, Thomas (Paula) Christensen, Scott (Kim) Christensen, Chad Christensen and Debra (Ralph) Hopfensperger; 6 Grandchildren: Branden (Steffanie) Christensen, Brittany (Chris) Voigt, Alexander Christensen, Madeline Christensen (Trevor Santkuyl), Amber (James) Dean, and Jacob Hopfensperger, 5 Great Grandchildren; and Branden and Brittany’s mother – Dawn Christensen.
Per Joyce’s wishes, there will be no visitation. There will instead be a private memorial service for family on September 7, 2021. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Menasha, WI.
