Age 79, died Wednesday, August 27, 2003, at Brewster Village, Appleton, WI. Morgan was born June 26, 1924, in Neenah, WI to the late Morgan J. and Mary L. (O’Connell) Jorgensen, Sr. He was an area resident for most of his life. The Jorgensen family farmed for many years in Neenah. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Morgan married Rosemary VanDenZen in 1956; she preceded him in death in 1987. Our dad loved to travel with his family and was an avid skier and a devoted walker. He enjoyed eighteen years as a resident of Denver, Colorado, returning to Appleton just five years ago. He was especially proud of his twin grandsons, Jeremy and Jason Somers, who were adopted in Bogota, Colombia; Grandpa Morgan came to Bogota to be a part of the joy. Morgan is survived by his daughters, Patricia Jorgensen of Appleton, and Mary Somers of Menomonee Falls, and Susan Jorgensen of Denver, Colorado. He is also survived by his grandsons, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Jorgensen; his brother Clyde Jorgensen; his sisters, Mary Lou Jorgensen and Jean Jorgensen. Funeral services for Morgan will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2003, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 East Fremont Street, Appleton, WI with Fr. Robert Karuhn officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial has been established in Morgan’s name to benefit Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
