MOLLEN HUISMAN, ZETA M.

Zeta Mollen Huisman, of Kimberly, age 83 years, died on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Hospital with her family by her side. She was born June 18, 1923 in Racine, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Gertrude (Vande Hey) Vandenberg. Zeta grew up on a farm in West DePere and later married Emery Mollen of Little Chute on August 20, 1942 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown, who preceded her in death in 1976. She married Nicholas Huisman on May 10, 1980 at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Kaukauna and he preceded her in death in 1998.

Zeta had many hobbies including card playing, knitting, crocheting afghans for all the new babies and making comforters for the newlyweds. Sundays was always a day to come to Grandma’s house. She loved her grandchildren and there was always room at the table to enjoy a home cooked dinner.

She is survived by her sons: Nicholas (Rita) Mollen, Little Chute; Mark (Barbara) Mollen, Kaukauna and Stephen (Debra) Mollen, Darboy; daughters: Kathleen (Tom) Ashauer and Charlotte Mollen, both of Kaukauna; step-children: Michael Huisman, California; Bill (Jenny) Huisman, Kimberly; Patrick (Dawn) Huisman, Kimberly; Karen (Pat) Kriplean, Brillion and Joann (Bob) Stein, Darboy; grandchildren: James Mollen, Little Chute; Robert (Kris) Mollen, Little Chute; Amy (Mike) Tremel, Town of Harrison; Michelle (the late Mark) Price; Grand Chute; Andrea (Gene) Banaszynski, New London; Erica Ashauer, Elmhurst, IL; Jason (Sheila) Mollen, Rhinelander, Matt (Tricia) Mollen, Chicago, IL; Ben Mollen, Appleton; Barry (Heather) Mollen, Green Bay; Greg and Brett Mollen, both of Milwaukee; step-grandchildren: Lindsey Huisman; Jeremy Van Dera; Adam, Chris, Courtney and Ashley Kriplean; T.J. and David Huisman; great-grandchildren: Kevin and Kyle Mollen; Jon and Andrew Tremel; Keyra and Courtney Price; Jocelyn and Nadia Banaszynski; Bailey and Braedon Mollen; Austin and (new baby to come) Mollen; sisters: Isabelle (Gilbert) Vosters, Freedom; June (Merlin) School, Freedom; Jean Van Dera, Kaukauna; Pearl (Roy) Pleshek, Kaukauna and Joan Schultz, Minnesota; sisters-in-law: Mary (Bill) Liskow and Delores Mollen; brother-in-law: James Hoffman. Zeta is further survived by her husband’s brothers and sisters: Pauline (Ken) Niesen; Melda (Dick) Johnston; Vivian Huisman; Lory Maley and Dick Niesen. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Zeta was preceded in death by her husbands, Emery Mollen and Nicholas Huisman, her son Michael Mollen, brother Douglas (Carol) Vandenberg, sisters Yvonne Hoffman and Margie Vandenberg, grandchild Angie Lea Mollen, mother and father-in-law, August and Anna Mollen, brothers-in-law Francis Mollen , Bill Schultz and Ted Van Dera, sister-in-law Ruth Plaaman and her very favorite pet Schnauzer, Pepper.

The funeral liturgy for Zeta will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, May 18, 2007at ST. JOHN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 323 Pine Street, Little Chute with Fr. Jim Hablewitz officiating. Interment will take place at St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 2:00 pm until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.

There were some very special doctors in Zeta’s life. Dr. Misty Johnson at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Dr. Alan Cherkasky of Kaukauna were two top professionals who went above and beyond for Zeta. When things were at their worst, they were always there with compassion and concern. Thank you! Also, Dr. Avery and Dr. Koeper were two more flowers in her life!
