“Milt”
Milton G. Teske, age 83, of Neenah, passed away Wednesday evening, July 5, 2006, at Manor Care Health Services in Appleton, his home for the past six years. He was born August 31, 1922, to the late Herman and Anna (Duerst) Teske, in Appleton. Milton married Rosella R. “Rose” Bressers of Little Chute, WI on August 26, 1946; Rose preceded him in death January 25, 2006. Milt enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1940. He participated in the occupation and capture of Guadalcanal, Tarawa Atoll, Saipan and Tinian, Midway Islands. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in battle in Saipan. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant in 1946. Milt was a watch repairman for Marty Hupka Jewelers in Appleton. After receiving his electricians license, he worked in industrial and residential services. He loved “hunting, fishing and partying in God’s country, Wisconsin”. Milt was member of Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church, Neenah, he was a Past Commander of the Oney Johnston-Edward Blessman American Legion Post #38 and a member for over 50 years. A long standing member of the Harvey Pierre VFW Post #2778. Milt also served as Chef de Gare of the 40 et 8, Outagamie County Voiture #1140. Milton is survived by his daughter, Carleen (Robert) Brock, Hayesville, NC; two grandchildren, Lisa (Rob) Cushman, Dalton, GA; Andrew (Linda Leigh) Brock, Alpharetta, GA; two great grandsons, Wil and Wyatt Cushman. He is also survived by a sister, Sophia (Clarence) NaGreen, Fremont. He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Teske and four sisters, Mildred and Mabel Teske, Lillian (Roy) Ellis and Shirley (Harold) Jacobson. Funeral services for Milton will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 13, 2006, at the funeral home, with Reverend Jason Oakland officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 am until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established in Milton’s name.
