Mildred V. Kronforst

Mitzi Kronforst, a longtime Kaukauna resident, died peacefully early on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at a local care center. Mitzi was born in Combined Locks on November 10, 1929, daughter of the late William and Catherine (Jansen) Van Dalen. She married Gene Kronforst in Combined Locks on her 34th birthday, 1953. Gene preceded her in death in 1999. Mitzi will be remembered by all for the beautiful rose gardens she kept at her home.

Survivors include two children: Katie (Charles) Witkowski of Kaukauna and Phillip (Shari) Kronforst of Bryan, Texas; a step-son: Milt Nash of Appleton; four grandchildren: Lucy Kronforst, David Kronforst, Christopher Witkowski, and Kyle Witkowski; a brother-in-law: Clarence “Sonny” Pennings of Little Chute; and two sisters-in-law: Joan Wolf of Kaukauna and Gladys Van Dalen of Combined Locks. Mitzi was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene in 1999, her daughter Lucy in 1960, a brother Patrick Van Dalen, and sisters Bernice (Sylvester “Jug”) Bayer and Eunice Pennings.

A memorial reception will be held at the Fargo Funeral Home on Sunday, July 23, 2006 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. At. Mitzi’s request, there will be no formal funeral services.
