Mildred M. Lorenz

Mildred M. (Schwandt) Lorenz, age 75, passed away on June 29, 2007 at the Franciscan Care Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 5, 1931 in Appleton, daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Gotay) Schwandt. She married Kenneth William Lorenz on May 19, 1956; he preceded her in death on July 27, 1984. Millie graduated from Appleton High School in 1949 and attended Appleton Business School. She worked at First National Bank of Appleton (currently Chase Bank) for over 20 years. Millie loved music and played both the piano and the clarinet. She enjoyed playing cards with her boys, friends and other family members. Her joyful, caring spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sons: Kevin (Brenda) Lorenz of Appleton; Kurt (Michelle) Lorenz of Appleton; and Keith (Susan) Lorenz of Waupaca; two grandchildren: Matt and Kelsey Lorenz; a sister-in-law: Marion Reading of Brillion, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ken, sisters Dorothy (Roger) Mueller and Ruth (Ted) Wade, and brothers Carlton (Babe) Schwandt and Milton (Crystal) Schwandt.

Funeral services for Millie will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel, 3212 S. Oneida Street with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until the hour of the service.

The family would like to offer their special thanks to Mary Slinger and Peggy Ebben for organizing a special surprise party where Millie enjoyed visiting with her friends and family earlier this month; her friends at Oneida Heights for all the card playing days and nights; the caring staffs at Oneida Heights, Cherry Meadows Hospice, and Franciscan Care Center.
