Michael Alan Kletti

September 9, 1959 — November 6, 2023

Menasha

Michael Alan Kletti, age 64, died peacefully in his home with his family by his side on November 6, 2023. Mike was born on September 9, 1959, to Alan and Betty (Hillmann) Kletti and grew up in Grafton. Following high school, he received his AA in engineering. He met Sandra (Sandy) Miller when she was attending Mount Mary University -he always managed to find ways to see her and spend time with her!  They married April 23, 1983, and they then had three children and raised their children in Appleton, Darboy and Town of Harrison.

Mike’s engineering brain served him well throughout his life, he could and did fix almost anything…and would always rather do it himself than pay anyone to do it.  He had a bevy of tools and toys in his arsenal to make those jobs feasible.

Mike was an avid sportsman, he loved all outdoor sports including but not limited to golf, football, soccer, basketball, water and snow skiing. He loved to have the tv airing the current football games on both Saturdays and Sundays. He especially loved boating and the family spent many vacations on the power boat.  One of his favorite adventures was crossing Lake Michigan to the harbors-it was an annual week-long trip. He loved to spend time attending all the events his children were involved in and also coached many of their teams across the years. Boating was life and the water fed his spirit.

Mike had wanderlust that only partially satisfied by the travels mandated by his work.  He was continually checking in with the family from the airport, the hotel or just a sidewalk café. He travelled around the world with his job from the US and Canada to Europe, Asia, South America.  He was known for traveling Monday through Thursday, but the weekends were all about his family. Finally, Mike was able to bring Sandy on a trip when they went to visit Kelley as she studied abroad in Ireland.  They ventured to Germany and Italy and made many memories. As husband and wife, Mike and Sandy travelled to the Caribbean, St Lucia, Hawaii, Mexico and many other locations- as a general rule, wherever there was a beach, they found an adventure.

Mike was a mentor and a leader at work and was known for his sense of humor-mostly great jokes and wicked wit. He always felt that leadership was about developing those who follow. He loved animals, especially the pups, and was generous with both his time and talents.

Mike is survived by his wife of 40 years; his children: Matthew (Tiffany) Kletti, Andrew (Amanda) Kletti, and Kelley (Marco) Rodriguez; grandchildren: Harvey, and one grandson soon to make his arrival, Adam, Charles, and Liliana. He is further survived by his parents Alan and Betty Kletti  and his sister Sue (Jeff) Van Eperen; sisters and brothers in law as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mike is preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law Charles and Lucina (DeCoster) Miller, sister in law Judi Miller and great niece MacKenzie Van Eperen.

A funeral mass for Mike will be held Friday November 10, 2023, at 4:00pm at St John Nepomucene, 411 Vandenbroek, Little Chute. Friends and family may gather at the church from 2:00pm until the start of mass. Mike will be laid to rest at Holy Family Cemetery in Brillion.

Mike’s family would like to thank Dr Poola’s team at ThedaCare Cancer Center especially Rachel, Maureen and Jenny for their continued support, care and compassion during Mike’s journey. In addition, thank you to the TCAH Hospice team as well.
