The funeral liturgy for Michael J. Curran will be at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 West Marquette Street, Appleton, on Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at 7:00p.m. Father Zuleger will officiate. Friends may call at the church from 5:00p.m. until the time of the service. A private burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established.
Mike, 57, died unexpectedly on August 30, 2001. He was born to Mary Ruth (Fitzgerald) Curran and the late Gerald Curran on April 15, 1944, Green Bay, WI. He graduated from Premontre High School in 1962 and later attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where he earned a B.B.A. Mike was happily married to Katheryn (Barclay) since 1969. Mike was a devoted member of St. Pius X Catholic Church where he was also active with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 9. He served as a past president and an active member in A.R.C., as well as a board member of Y.A.R.C. Local and state A.R.C. organizations recently recognized Mike’s family as “Family of the Year.” He was employed in sales for 32 years at Conger Industries, Inc. Mike made every gathering a party and enjoyed spending time with family, hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Katheryn Curran, Appleton; sons, Patrick and Timothy Curran, both of Appleton; mother, Mary Ruth Curran, Green Bay; Sister and Brother-in-law: Mary Ellen and Dean Otte, Davenport, IA; and brother and sister-in-law Patrick and Maria Curran, Neenah, WI. Mike was preceded in death by his loving father, Gerald James Curran. Mike’s stories rang with true Irish Blarney and will be dearly missed by anyone who knew him.
