Of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 1, 2003.
Mike was born on October 14, 1949, the son of John and Valeria Van Groll.
Mike proudly served his country in the Vietnam Conflict in the U.S. Army. He spent all of his life in Appleton, an avid sports enthusiast, enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family.

Mike is survived by mother, Valeria, Fort Myer, FL; John D. (Mary) Van Groll, Appleton, Gary (Margaret) Van Groll, Menasha, JoAnn (Donald) Schroeder, Appleton, step-brother, Joe (Vicki) Loessel, Springhill, FL; nieces and nephews: John, Paul, and Cami Van Groll, Appleton, Valerie (Jim) Winters, Michael and Brian Van Groll, Appleton, Christine (Brian) Clearwater, Lake Villa, IL, Cindy Schroeder, Manitowoc, Todd (Kristin) Loessel, Neenah and Sarah (Ben) Cleveland, Appleton.

He was preceded in death by his father, John E. Van Groll.

Deacon Maury Reed will officiate Funeral Services on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will begin at 9:30 until the time of service followed by Military Honors. Entombment will take place in Highland Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to Fox Valley Vietnam Veterans Association (103 E. College Ave. P.O. Box 2781, Appleton, WI 54913).
