FREIBERG, MICHAEL A.
Michael A. Freiberg, age 60, 103 East Ann Street, Kaukauna, was welcomed in to Heaven on June 11, 2006. He was born November 6, 1945 in Milwaukee, the son of Orville and Hazel (Zabel) Freiberg. Mike served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and was stationed out of Norfolk, VA. He was a Navy Chaplain’s Assistant and served on the USS Boxer (LPH4). He was a talented brass musician and played with the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Band, U.S. Navy Band, Fond du Lac City Band and the Appleton City Band. Mike was a longtime member of the Point of Grace Ministries, Des Moines, IA.
He is survived by his mother, Hazel Freiberg of Kaukauna; sister, Linda Wunderlich of Kaukauna; nephews: Timothy and Daniel Wunderlich and a great nephew T.J. Wunderlich all of Appleton. Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Freiberg and his father Orville Freiberg. Private family services were held. Memorials are appreciated to Lutheran Counseling and Family Services, 3800 N. Mayfair Rd., Wauwatosa, WI 53222.
Michael’s family would like to extend their gratitude to Pastor Leon Knitt, the entire staff of Colony Oaks, Appleton Medical Center and the staff at the Fond du Lac Rehabilitation Center. Mike received kind and compassionate care from all who cared for him.
