Melissa “Missy” Leigh Seefeldt, age 39, passed away peacefully in her home after a struggle with pancreatic cancer on May 29, 2023. Her loving parents, who have cared for her so well were at her side. Missy was born January 16, 1984, to James and Donna (Wondrash) Seefeldt in Appleton. She was the middle of three girls. She was affectionately known as “Missy-Bug.” Following high school, she worked at Valley Packaging. She was a participant in Special Olympics throughout her school years and beyond.
Missy loved good snacks, especially Peanut M&M’s, Chex Mix and Friday night fish fries. She was known for ordering a Pepsi with green olive garnish. Chinese food, popcorn, and McDonald’s every week were highlights. She enjoyed fishing, and she seemed to have a magic touch, often using her favorite expression on the boat “It’s a whopper, get the net!” She loved watching animal planet- and could name any animal on the show, her passion for animals was legendary to all who knew her. She especially loved kitties!
In recent years, Missy resided at Agape homes with staff who grew to be her second family. Missy felt so loved and supported with the staff who even painted her room purple. Because of Missy’s love of stickers and cutting hearts the staff at Agape now considers themselves “heart surgeons.”
Missy is survived by her parents, her sisters Stacey (Jason) Zanck and Lindsay (Casey) Pederson; nieces and nephews: Piper and Connor Pederson and Bailey and Tyler Zanck; Grandmother Florence Wondrash; aunts and uncles: Dan & Kathy Seefeldt, Pat & Sandy Wondrash and cousins: Tony (Melinda) Seefeldt, Amy Seefeldt, and Travis (Jenna) Wondrash in addition to kitties: Mitzi and Minnie.
