Maynard G. Schwab

Passed away on Friday March 23, 2001 at his home. He was born on December 23, 1913 in Isaar, Wisconsin the son of the late George and Ida (Giese) Schwab. At age 4, his parents moved to Mountain, WI where they farmed until 1949. On June 22, 1935, he married Iola Christensen at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Suring, WI. They celebrated 65 years of marriage together. Maynard and his family moved to Seymour and farmed until 1959. At that time they moved to Menasha and he worked construction until retirement. Maynard loved hunting, fishing, playing pool, gardening and selling fruits and vegetables. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was active in Keenagers and Eltergarten.
Maynard is survived by his wife Iola, his daughter Ione Butt of Neenah; two sons Kenneth Schwab of DePere; and Marvin Schwab of Menasha; a sister Freda (Raymond) Schoen of Menasha; eleven grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sons Donald, Richard, and Dennis; a daughter-in-law Carolyn Schwab; a sister Myrtle Mueller; and two brothers Raymond and Lester.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday March 26, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 912 North Oneida Street with the Reverend Larry Matthews officiating. Interment will take place at Mt. Olive Lutheran Cemetery in Suring. Friends may call at the Wichmann Tri-County Chapel, 3212 S. Oneida Street, on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
The family wishes to offer a special thanks to the nurses and caregivers from Theda Care at Home for all their tender loving care given to Maynard and his family.
