Appleton – Mayford R. Geske, 87, died Monday, February 5, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. He was born on May 3, 1930, in Waupaca County, the son of Rudolph and Minnie (Schmidt-Handrich) Geske. He graduated from Waupaca High School, the Class of 1947. May married Bona Deane “Bonnie” Olson on September 15, 1951, in Manawa. She preceded him in death on June 20, 2001. He lived in Appleton most of his married life and was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, Appleton.
Mayford is survived by 3 sons: Mark, Dale (Joyce), and Neal Geske; 2 grandchildren: Adam (Sarah) Geske and Nicole (fiancé Steve Hornick) Geske; 2 great grandchildren: Carter and Nash; and many other relatives and friends.
Mayford was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters: Margaret Weinmann, Myrtle Voigt, Orville Handrich, Lyle Handrich, and Evan Geske.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Highland Memorial Park, Star of Hope Chapel, 3131 N. Richmond St., Appleton. Visitation will be on Saturday at the chapel from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Entombment will take place immediately following the service at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to the Zion Lutheran Church Pipe Organ Fund, in May’s name.
