On September 17, 2024, our hearts were forever changed as we said goodbye to Maxine Georgette Voigt (Clark), a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Maxine was born to Melvin and Jeannette Clark on February 8, 1948, in Appleton, Wisconsin. Throughout her 76 years, Maxine touched countless lives with her kindness and unwavering compassion.
Maxine graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School Class of 1967 and Fox Valley Technical College (1999), earning a Practical Nursing Degree - LPN. Maxine enjoyed camping, fishing, and watching the wildlife from her backyard. She also had many hobbies, including knitting, crocheting, and quilt making.
Maxine dedicated her life to caring for others as Certified Nursing Assistant, Med-Tech, and LPN at Outagamie County Health Care Center. She retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital/Ascension as an LPN on the Adult and Child Behavioral and Mental Health Units, where she formed deep connections with colleagues and patients. Her warmth, empathy, and gentle nature impacted everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Maxine’s family was the center of her world. She leaves behind her devoted husband Gerald (Jerry), her two daughters, Sonia (Shawn) Cleary and Tiffany Voigt (Mike), and her beloved grandchildren, Joey Cleary, Sam Cleary, and Danielle Sager, who will forever hold her memory close. Her sisters Rebecca Watt, Sally Jo Bolen (Dave), and Nadine (David) Schreiter will miss the special bond they shared with Maxine. Her Brother-in-Law Arthur Voigt Sr; sisters-in-law, Patricia Kramas, Karen (Joe) Deffner, as well as her many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She also leaves behind a circle of friends who became like family over the years, and her beloved dog Olaf.
Maxine joins her beloved daughter Georgette, grandson Ethan Cleary, sister Patricia Knapp, brother-in-law Terry Bolen, sister-in-law Judy Huffman and her parents in eternal peace.
A special thank you to all the staff at St Elizabeth hospital for their kindness and compassion during Maxine’s care. To Max’s ladies at Oakridge, your friendship and time spent with her meant so very much.
