Maxine L. Neuens

November 1, 1921 — March 1, 2005

Age 83, passed away with her family at her side on Tuesday, March 1, 2005. Maxine was born in Niagara, Wisconsin on November 1, 1921, daughter of the late Henry and Katherine (Nora) Bourassa. On January 6, 1942, she married Peter Neuens; he preceded her in death on December 8, 2004, after sixty-two years of marriage.

She was longtime member of Holy Spirit Parish, and for many years worked in the bindery department at Petersen Press in Appleton. Maxine spent her free time caring for the needs of her family and others.

Maxine is survived by five children: Gary (Roxanne) Neuens of Kaukauna; Randy (Linda) Neuens of Center Valley; Barbara (John) Hackel of Kaukauna; Dawn (Marty) Lambrecht of Little Chute; and Phyllis (Gene) Vander Pas of Little Chute; twenty grandchildren: Robin (Keith) Kelly, Elizabeth Neuens, Todd (Peg) Neuens, Matt (Beth) Neuens, Andy Neuens, Amy (Ron) O’Rourke, Rob (Maggie) Neuens, Nicole Neuens, John (Darla) Hackel, Gina (Steve) Burke, Joe (Sue) Hackel, Melissa Miller, Holly Lambrecht, Kari (Joe) Perz, Shane (Diane) Lambrecht, Cody Lambrecht, Chad Vander Pas, Dayna (Dave) Wolf, and Lana (Todd) Granger; thirty-three great grandchildren; a brother: Gordon Bourassa of Milwaukee; a brother-in-law: Jake (Darlene) Neuens of Aurora; two sisters-in-law: Gen Pynenberg of Little Chute and Carol Neuens of Aurora. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Peter, a grandson Michael Neuens, and a sister Bernice (Wally) Monnosso.

The funeral liturgy will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2005 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH – KIMBERLY, 600 East Kimberly Avenue, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and again at the church on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the hour of the liturgy. There will be a parish prayer service at the funeral home at 7:00 PM Thursday.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staffs of Appleton Medical Center, Parkside Care Center, and Heartland Hospice for their efforts. Everyone was so wonderful to our family, and you made mom feel at home while in your care. Maxine’s grandchildren loved her dearly, and lovingly stayed at her side during her final days.
