Mavis G. Willes

Mavis Glover Willes (nee Babcock), age 90 of Menasha, WI, passed away April 21, 2022.  She was born to William and Vivian (Buttolph) Babcock on September 29, 1931.  She graduated from Washington High School in 1949 and went on to nursing school from there, graduating with a bachelor’s degree.  Mavis worked at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, later becoming a full-time mother.  She married the love of her life, Robert “Willy” Willes in 1963 and together, they raised 3 boys. 

Mavis was always the mother and nurse for all the kids in the neighborhood, always healing minor wounds for everyone.  She loved roller skating with Willy whenever she could.  She also absolutely loved golf in her youth.  More than anything, though, Mavis loved her family.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and always spent as much time with her family as she could. 

Mavis is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents, William and Vivian; her sister, Alice.

Mavis is survived by her children, Robert Jr. (Jean), Larry (Amy), and Burt (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Amanda (Kyle), Trevor (Skye), Connor, Sydney, Justin (Brittney), Christina (Dan), Danyelle (Jason); her brother, Jack; her great grandchildren, Grace, Caleb, Mason, Graham and Sawyer; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, May 14 from 9-11 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 2^nd Street, Menasha with a mass to follow at 11 AM.  Interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Menasha at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Mavis’ name.  Please consider leaving a donation or an online expression of sympathy.
