Mary Quinta Swan, 81, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2023.
Mary was born on May 24, 1941, in Lowell, MA to Philip and Pierina Payette.
Mary was married to the love of her life, William Swan Sr. for 60 years and together they raised 4 beautiful children.
Mary’s favorite pastime was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Large family cookouts with yard games were something she really enjoyed. When she wasn’t visiting with her children in person, she was spending time with them on the phone, usually during lengthy and boisterous conversations.
Mary was an avid golfer for many years, spending many mornings at Reid Golf Course. Her interest in golf was so strong that sometimes she would arrive at the golf course alone to be paired up with new golfers.
When asked about her favorite trips, Mary would mention the trip to Hawaii for her and Bill’s 25th wedding anniversary as well as vacations to Italy and San Francisco.
During her alone time, Mary enjoyed reading, knitting slippers for her children and grandchildren, playing word games on her Kindle and yard work. Mary very much enjoyed mowing the lawn and did so every week into her 80’s. She also made time on Friday afternoons to make her legendary tuna fish.
Mary was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister and she was a regular attendee at St. Thomas More Church.
