Mary Ellen (Wagner) Sprotte, age 67, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at her home. Mary was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on January 28, 1957, to the late Edward and Mary (Zuraski) Wagner.
Following graduation from Appleton East High School she attended Fox Valley Technical College earning an Associate’s Degree in Finance. On August 28, 1976, Mary was united in marriage to Terry Sprotte in Appleton for 48 years, until the time of her passing.
Mary worked as an accountant at the Visiting Nurses Association of Appleton and then for ThedaCare for 25 years until retirement. She enjoyed the outdoors, the cabin up north, snowshoeing, baking, and spending time with family.
Mary was a caring and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She always brought joy and fun to coworkers and friends through small, thoughtful gestures.
She is survived by her husband, Terry; two children, Daniel (Christy) Sprotte and Sarah LeMoine; three grandchildren, Olivia and Ethan Sprotte, and Will LeMoine; three sisters, Peggy Aertker, Julie (Jon) Post, and Sue (Billy) Frank; mother-in-law Audrey Sprotte; brother-in-law Glenn (Jody) Sprotte; brother-in-law Stewart Sprotte (Sarah Hartman); one aunt, Theresa Wagner; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law Roger Sprotte; brother-in-law, Leon Sprotte; brother-in-law, Roger Aertker; aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 at Wichmann Tri-County Chapel, 1592 S. Oneida Street in Menasha, with visitation beginning at 3:00 pm until the time of service at 5:00 pm. Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Aspirus Volm Cancer Center in Antigo, Wisconsin and ThedaCare at Home-Hospice for the compassionate care given to Mary.
