Mary Lou Milslagle

Mary L. Milslagle, 82, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023. She was born on December 25, 1940, in Racine, the daughter of Thomas and Stella Anderson. Mary and the love of her life, James Milslagle, were high school sweethearts, discovering each other in their junior years, at the age of 17. After 4 years of courtship, they were united in marriage on September 9, 1961, and were together for almost 62 years. Together they enjoyed traveling the world, with trips to 42 countries, and work assignments in California and Toronto, Canada. Mary resided in Wisconsin for the last 37 years.

Mary is survived by her husband: Jim; her son: Scott (Melanie) Milslagle, and their children: Stella, Evie, and Lucy Milslagle; her daughter: Amy Milslagle, and Amy’s daughter: Ashley Milslagle; brothers-in-law: John (Patti) Milslagle and Bob Klingbeil; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, sister: Judy Bohn.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton. Visitation will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.

Mary’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at ThedaCare at Home and Hospice and the staff at Cherry Meadows Hospice, especially nurses Matt and Desiree for their kindness, care, and compassion.

Mary will forever be remembered as the most amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt . . . EVER. She taught her family what true love and family means, leaving a legacy of joy, loyalty, and laughter for all. She will be forever missed.
