Age 74, left us to be with her Heavenly Father, her husband Jerry and son, Dennis early Friday morning, April 19, 2002. Mary was born May 5, 1927 and raised in Berlin, WI, daughter of Mabel Mutha. She graduated from Berlin High School in 1944 and later moved to Waupun, WI. Mary soon met Jerome Berenz in Waupun and they were married February 12, 1955. They later moved to Fox Lake, WI. After the death of Jerry in 1978, Mary moved to Appleton, WI, and worked as a secretary at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church from 1979 until her retirement in 1994. Mary was an active member of several Catholic Churches during her 74 years.

Mary was a loving and caring mother of six children, Bill (Vikki) Berenz; Maura (Sheldon) Boomsma; Betsy (Paul) Wilfer; John Berenz; and James Berenz. She was Nana to three grandchildren, Ashley and Ben Wilfer and Christi Berenz.

The Funeral Liturgy will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 North McDonald Street, Appleton with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Visitation will be TUESDAY at CHURCH from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Lunch and fellowship will follow at Church. Burial will be 2:30 PM on Tuesday at Highland Memory Gardens in Beaver Dam, WI. A memorial is being established in her name.

Mary will always be remembered for the Love and Devotion she showed towards her children.
