Age 77, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at Theda Clark Medical Center, Neenah. Ginny was born to the late George and Florence (Compte) Moore in Milwaukee on June 1, 1924. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas Grade School and Holy Angels Academy in Milwaukee. Ginny attended Marquette University. On October 23, 1943 she married Robert K. Burns at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Milwaukee. Ginny enjoyed entertaining guests at her home and at their Irish cottage in Askeaton. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her high school friends were important to her. She especially enjoyed her trips with Bob to Ireland and the many dear friends they made there. All of her trips were made special because she shared them with her dearest friend and the love of her life, her husband, Bob. Ginny is survived by: her husband of 58 years, Dr. Robert K. Burns: five children; Mary Honore (Tom) Greenwald of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; Thomas R. Burns of Waupaca; Patrick K. Burns of King, Wisconsin; Catherine Mary “Katie” ( Dr. Edward) Bekx of Kimberly; Margaret Mary “Maggie” Bero of Manitowoc: 14 grandchildren; Patrick (Candy), Daniel, and Bridget Greenwald; Brian and Molly Burns, Bobby and Paddy Burns, Robbie, Danny, Sean and Lauren Bekx; Emily, Ashley and Erin Bero: one great-grandchild; Michael Greenwald: one brother, John “Jack” (Joan) Moore: her in-laws; Jack (Ruth) Burns, Betty Lauer, Daniel Burns, Mary (Ron) Dietzen, Alice (Dave) Huss, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. Ginny was preceded in death by her son , Michael R. Burns, in 1991; a brother-in-law, Art Lauer; and a sister-in-law, Rose Marie Burns. The funeral liturgy will be at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2002, at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Friends may call at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a personal memorial fund or to the Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation. The family extends a special thank you to Dr. John Elisberg and to Kathy Vogel.
