Mary Ann Goldapske, age 68, of Kaukauna, died Monday afternoon, at Appleton Medical Center, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 8, 1937, to the late John and Lucille (Bingen) Goldapske, in Fond du Lac and had been a Kaukauna resident most of her life. Mary Ann graduated from Kaukauna High School, Class of 1955. She had been employed by Heckert Shoe Store and K-Mart, in Appleton and retired when the store closed. Mary Ann was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She is survived by her mother, Lucille M. (Bingen) Goldapske, Kaukauna; two sisters, Doris (Bob) Verbeten, Appleton; Sally (Dennis) Wickesberg, Seymour; a brother, James Goldapske, Kaukauna; nieces and nephews, John (Theresa) Verbeten, Joseph Verbeten and his special friend, Robin, Vicky (Joe) DeGoey, Jeff (Lynn) Goldapske, Brad (Lori) Goldapske, Jimmy Goldapske, Connie (George) Alft, Cindy (Jim) Kraeger, Denise White, Gary Wickesberg, Jenny (Joe) Theys, Samuel Wickesberg and his special friend, Michelle, Clint (Evelyn) Wickesberg, Matthew Wickesberg and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father John Goldapske, her sister-in-law, Jean Goldapske and a niece, Katie Wickesberg. The funeral liturgy for Mary Ann will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, February 24, 2005, HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, with Father Jack Mullarkey officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 – 8 pm, Wednesday and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 am, until the time of the service. There will be a prayer and scripture service at 7:30 pm Wednesday. A memorial fund is being established.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Avi Bar-Lev and the nurses of Appleton Medical Center.

Mary, you were the guiding light that kept this family going. We love you and will miss you so very much. We know that you are at peace in God’s hands.
