Age 53, died at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison on Sunday, March 16, 2003. Mary was born in Appleton on March 20, 1949, daughter of the late Peter and Henrietta (De Valk) Van Wychen. She married Cliff Doering at St. Mary Catholic Church on September 23, 1972. Mary loved to spend time with her granddaughter, Cassandra. Mary always put other people’s needs in front of hers. She will be lovingly remembered for her hospitality at home.

Mary is survived by her husband, Cliff; son, Eric (Megan) Doering of Milwaukee; daughter, Nicole Doering of Kaukauna; grandchild, Cassandra Bertrand of Kaukauna; two brothers: Robert Van Wychen of Kaukauna and Joseph (Mary) Van Wychen of Crooked Lake, WI; further survived by other relatives and friends.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Van Wychen.

The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2003, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna. Friends will be received at the Fargo Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 19, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
