Marvin “Woody” H. Wittman, 90, crossed over on Saturday, April 11, 2020. He was born on February 7, 1930, to the late Ted and Ceil (Hoffman) Wittman in Kaukauna. Woody graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1949. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1951, was deployed to the front lines in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1953. Marvin was united in marriage to Mary Ann Schmit on June 1, 1957, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Greenville. They were members of Holy Cross Parish in Kaukauna for 62 years. He was employed by Thilmany Pulp and Paper for 41 years and 10 months before his retirement in 1992. Woody enjoyed fishing and golfing. He was a member at Oakwood Hills for many years and joined the Thilmany and Zoo golf leagues. Woody loved tending to his vegetable and flower gardens. He would share tips, tomatoes, and took joy in showing his gardens to anyone who drove by or wanted to see. Woody enjoyed woodworking and showing his basement carving museum which consisted of animals, people, wagons, a cabin, tug and barge, train, and ships. He liked morning coffee with the guys and dining out with his wife. Woody was known for his sense of humor and liked to tease, talk, and tell stories.
Woody will be missed by his wife Mary Ann; children Jean (Pat Lane) Wittman, Dan (Elizabeth) Wittman, Ken (Ann) Wittman, Patty (Mark) Fuller, Don (Kay) Wittman; grandchildren Jake (Rachel) Wittman, Micah (Anne), Eli, and Tekoa Wittman, Maria, Krista and Peter Fuller; great-grandchildren Grace Wittman and Colton Wittman. Woody is further survived by his brother-in-law Dick Evers, and sisters-in-law Sharon Pausig and Mary Ann Schmit.
Woody was preceded in death by his sister Marlene Evers in 2004.
