Martin Henry Vande Burgt Jr

Martin Henry Vande Burgt Jr, age 87, of Brillion, passed away on February 8, 2022. Martin was born on February 4, 1935 in Appleton Wisconsin to the late Martin Vande Burgt Sr and Hattie (Williamson) Vande Burgt. On June 9, 1956 he married the former Mary Lou Mericle at St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha. He was a long-time employee of Thilmany Paper. He loved to spend time with his family most of all. He also loved cookouts and fireworks. He loved spending time up north and in the outdoors. He also loved fishing and boating. He was known as a Jack of All Trades, Master of None, but could fix anything, and  loved working on his cars.

 

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years, Mary Lou, children: Colleen (special friend Ron) Doering of Appleton, Catherine Vande Burgt of Neenah, Carol (Randy) Guenther of Combined Locks, Mark Vande Burgt of Brillion, Coreen Vande Burgt of Brillion, Carla (fiancé Mike) Vande Burgt of New London, Mike Vande Burgt of Greenleaf and Chris VerVoort of Kaukauna, 7 grandchildren: Jim (Noel), Scott, Jamie (sp friend Holly), John, Shannon, Cassondra (fiancé Carlos), and Alexandra, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, siblings Marie Miller, Theresa Eiting, Barbara Steinberg, brother-in-law Paul Senner, sister-in-law Donna Remter. as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter in law Lisa Vande Burgt, siblings Adrian (Pat) Vande Burgt, Bertha (Howie) Brux, Margaret Vande Burgt, Elizabeth (Harvey) Schroeder, and Regina Luison.

 

Funeral Services for Martin will be on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 11:00am at Wichmann Funeral Homes, Fargo Funeral Home location on Wisconsin Avenue in Kaukauna. There will be a visitation before the service from 10:00am to 11:00am on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Hollandtown.
