Age 89, passed away Monday afternoon, April 22, 2002. Martha was born April 6, 1913, to the late Phillip and Ida (Deaton) Pickett, in Memphis, TN. Upon graduation from high school in Chicago, she worked for Kemper Insurance Company. Martha married Edmund J. Laue in July 27, 1932, in Waukegan, IL. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Robert Rubright, Kirkwood, MO; Sandra and David Miller, Sherwood, WI; five grandchildren, Ted (Gina) Rubright, Daniel (Melissa) Rubright, Jane (Jose) Dias, Molly Miller and her fiancé, Troy Mueller, Joshua Miller; four great grandchildren, Ross Rubright, Cody Dias, Ty Dias and Jordan Dias, a sister, Pauline Broman. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services for Martha will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 25, 2002, at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 325 East Franklin Street, with Reverend Kent Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Cemetery. Friend will be received at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers memorial funds have been established for First United Methodist Church and Peabody Manor.
