Marlene “Janie” “Pearl” Cecilia Schierl, age 75, of Menasha, Wisconsin died peacefully, joining her family on October 19, 2018 at her residence. She was born on September 16,1943 in Appleton, WI to the late Roman and Genevieve (Burton) Schierl. After graduating from St. Mary High School, Marlene went on to work at Banta, retiring after 42 years. With the upcoming election, Marlene would have wanted to remind all her fellow Americans to “Keep America Great!”
In her spare time Marlene enjoyed nature, her cats, gardening, sports, westerns and, most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
Marlene is survived by her 27 nieces and nephews; special friends Jim (Brenda) Peters, Delores “Red” Boudry and Kathryn Cowling; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Ronald Schierl, Imogene (Rupert) Storzer, Lois (Emil) Dumetrescu, Roger (Peg) Schierl, Robert Schierl and Carol (Richard) Koehler.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM for Marlene on Saturday, October 27 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 2nd St., Menasha, WI 54952, by Rev. Paul Paider. Family and friends may visit at the church from 9 AM until the time of Mass. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
