In Loving Memory of Mark David Johnson

 

May 2, 1945 - October 15, 2023 

 

With profound sorrow, we mark the passing of Mark "Big Red" Johnson on October 15, 2023. Mark's legacy is etched in unwavering faith, hearty laughter, and an immeasurable love for his family. 

 

The son of Rev. Sylvester and Viola (Strandes) Johnson, Mark was a steadfast Lutheran and full of compassion. Mark attended Fox Valley Lutheran High and later worked as a director at St. Mary’s in Green Bay and Berlin Memorial Hospitals. Mark's professional journey, which concluded with his retirement in 2006, showcased his profound dedication to making a positive impact in every endeavor. More than anything, Mark was a devoted family man. His love knew no bounds, enveloping his wife, Karen (Hornburg) Johnson; his children, David (Tenielle) Johnson, Tina Warning, and Sara (Matt) Keck; and his cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Gunnar, Brett, and Sawyer. His heart extended to his siblings, Gloria Meyer and Tim Johnson, and he is now at peace with his parents, brother Paul, and great-grandson Grayson Derouso. 

 

We invite all to honor Mark's memory on October 20, at Mount Olive Church in Appleton. Visitation begins at 9:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. 

 

Mark's legacy is a testament to the beauty of a life anchored in love, faith, and family. The family expresses immense gratitude to Brewster Village's staff for their care.
