Mark Vincent Jackan

It is with great sadness that the family of Mark Vincent Jackan announces his passing on May 27, 2023.

Born August 16, 1983 in Great Lakes, IL.  He was a loving son, caring brother and a great uncle.  Mark was a “Big Teddy Bear”, an “A” student, and a talented high school and college athlete.  He was a respected worker in his field of construction management.  Mark was a trivia buff who loved history, science and new technology – he seemed to know a little about everything.

Mark graduated Appleton East High School in 2001.  He was a scholar athlete at Northern Michigan University.  He graduated Suma Cum laude with two Bachelor degrees in Biology (2005) and Construction Management (2006).  Mark spent his professional career working across the country on multiple large-scale infrastructure projects.  Mark cherished his relationships with teammates and friends throughout his life.

He was known and loved by many.   He will be greatly missed by his mother, Therese “Terry” Jackan; siblings Jennifer (Guy) Overbeck, Julie (Peter) Thomas and Daniel (Alicia) Jackan; niece, Elizabeth Thomas and nephews Joseph Thomas and Vincent Overbeck.  He was blessed with a large extended family including many aunts, uncles and cousins that also share in our loss of Mark.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert G. Jackan and his grandparents, Ray & Geno Hoepfner and Ig & Mary Jane Jackan.

Mark was someone who loved to just be casual, in honor of him, please wear casual attire. The more flip flops and crocs, the better!

Visitation for Mark will take place at Wichmann Funeral Home (537 N. Superior St. Appleton, WI) on Friday June 2, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and continue on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church (2331 East Lourdes Dr. Appleton, WI) from 9:30 am until 11:00 am. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Bernadette at 11:00 am. Private interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Appleton.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask you to donate to a medical or health charity or organization of your choice in honor of Mark.
