Marjorie "Marge" Ann Parker (Kraus), age 89, passed away peacefully at Eagle Court in Appleton, Wisconsin on April 18, 2025.
Marge was born on June 26, 1935, in Sheboygan, WI to William and Marcella (Paulson) Kraus. She graduated from Central High School in Sheboygan in 1953 and went on to attend Sheboygan County Normal School. Her passion for teaching led her to begin her career in a one-room schoolhouse in Haven, WI, later teaching third grade at Green Tree Elementary in Glendale, WI.
On September 7, 1957, she married Vern Parker, and together they built a home in Appleton where they raised their family and built a life rooted in love and tradition. Marge embodied the spirit of a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was nurturing, selfless, and dedicated entirely to the care of her family. Her days were filled with tending to her home, gardening, preparing homemade meals (never a store-bought cookie!), and supporting her children and grandchildren in their activities.
Marge was also an active and beloved member of her community. She volunteered at Franklin Elementary School's library, served as a Brownie troop leader, and gave her time and talents to Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Whether helping with the church newsletter or quilting circle, contributing to the building committee, or teaching Sunday School, she gave generously of herself.
Marge is survived by her two children, Kevin (Cindy) Parker of Green Bay, WI and Karin (Tom) DeLaitsch of Ellicott City, MD; four grandchildren, Megan and Kyle Parker and David and Andy DeLaitsch; and two nieces, Linda (Bob) Brennan and JoAnne (Craig) Gross. She was preceded in death by her sister, Clarice Schoening; and her grandson, Tommy DeLaitsch.
The Parker family extends heartfelt thanks to Unity Hospice and the compassionate staff at Eagle Point and Eagle Court for their dedicated support and care during Marge’s illness the past few years and during her final days.
A funeral visitation will be held for Marge on Monday, April 28 at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park.
Marge will be remembered for her quiet strength, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She lived a life of grace and purpose, and she will be deeply missed.
