Marjorie Marcella Miller of Appleton WI, Leesburg and Eustis FL passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 10, 2021. Marge was born September 6, 1929 in Appleton to parents Neil and Lucinda Bruch. Marge graduated from Appleton High School in 1947. She met the love of her life James, or Jim, or Skip as he was known to many, at the Waverly Beach roller rink. A marriage proposal followed and was accepted contingent on Skip quitting smoking. They were married on June 26th 1948, enjoying 68 years together until Skip’s passing in 2017.
Marge was a stay-at-home mom until her kids were in later grade school when she went to work at H C Prange starting out as their first ever Easter Bunny then working in the toy department. She then worked for Shopko until she retired.
Marge loved to play accordion and sing and she and Skip frequented area piano bars where she was often asked to sing a few songs. She had a voice like Doris Day.
In her 50’s Marge started oil painting, a hobby she expanded after they retired to Florida. Marge was very active in their Lakes of Leesburg community, playing accordion, singing, dancing and tap dancing. Their groups performed for people in the area and also performed at Walt Disney World. Marge and Skip continued roller skating together into their 80’s.
Marge, is survived by daughter Ann (Bob) Evers, Appleton WI, Ann’s children Cheryl Snodgrass (Danny Jones) Bremen KY and Jamey (Monica) Gosz, Greenville WI, grandchildren Logan and Ian Snodgrass, and Lucas and Kamden Gosz, son Gary (Vera Schanke) The Villages FL and their son Quinn Miller (partner Erica Rand), Eugene OR and Portland ME. Marge is further survived by her brother Neil (Lucy) Bruch, and many nephews and nieces.
Marge was proceeded in death by Skip, her parents, sister Fae (Bernhard) Jahnke and Skip’s siblings John, Richard, and Henrietta Armitige. Her grandson Scott Miller, and niece Wendy Bruch.
A brief service for family and friends will be held at 7:00 PM on July 20 at Wichmann Funeral Home 1582 Oneida St Menasha with Rev. Kurtiss Hoffman officiating. Visitation, remembering Marge and Skip’s lives will begin at 5:00 PM.
The service will be live-streamed, here at www.wichmannfuneralhomes.com on the day of the Service.
