"Midge"
Age 83, passed away Monday, July 14, 2003 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton following a brief illness. Midge was born in Appleton on August 27, 1919, daughter of the late Wilson S. and Mamie (Roblee) Patterson. She was a graduate of the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music, and during 1944 and 1945 served her country as a member of the only Women’s Marine Marching Band in the country. Following her discharge from the Marines, she married Arthur Peot on August 17, 1946. Art preceded her in death on March 3, 1992. For many years, Midge taught music at many different levels, but from 1965 until her retirement in 1983 taught elementary music in Seymour.
Midge is survived by her daughter: Lynn Miller of Green Bay; her son: Reid Peot of Green Bay; two granddaughters: Kerry (Mark) Hanson of Laramie, Wyoming and Kristin (Paul) Nesbitt of DeForest; two great-granddaughters: Grace Hanson and Kaylin Nesbitt; four sisters-in-law: LaRae Patterson of Appleton; Lois Peot of Appleton; Connie Peot of Luxemburg; and Gladys Peot of DePere. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother W.S. Patterson, III; and by brothers-in-law Earl Peot and Alvah Peot.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, July 17, 2003 at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2220 E. College Avenue in Appleton with Rev. Donald Schulz officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the hour of the service.
