Marion L. Fischer, age 93, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on January 1st, 2016 at Rennes Nursing & Rehab. Marion was born on June 4th 1922, in Appleton, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Arnold and Sarah Hickinbotham.
Marion grew up in Appleton and loved to go dancing as a young girl. At the age of 21, Marion married Robert Fischer. They enjoyed 72 wonderful years of marriage together. Marion was a stay at home mother who raised five children. She was also a devoted grandmother who had 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren including a very special great granddaughter Lily Marion. Marion enjoyed playing cards, listening to country western records, cooking and making picture books full of family memories. Marion enjoyed spending time with her family most of all. She was also a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church for many years.
She is survived by her five children: Sherry (Bruce) Kranzusch, Robert (Suzanne) Fischer, Sandy (Don) Sonkowski, Sue (John) Rosera and Sarah (Dale) Lind.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Arnold and Sarah Hickinbotham; Husband: Robert J Fischer; son-in-law: Bruce Kranzusch and a granddaughter Farrah Fischer.
The funeral liturgy for Marion will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 North McDonald Street, Appleton, with Father Gerald Falk officiating. A time of visitation will be held at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
