Marion (Jay Jay) Jandourek, 94, of Menasha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept 23, 2023.
She was born on May 28, 1929, in her home in Menasha, WI, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Kurowski) Steffens.
Marion was united in marriage to Elmer Jandourek in 1951 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha, and had been an active member of St. Pat’s ever since.
Known as Jay Jay to the hundreds of Girl Scouts she mentored, Marion dedicated her time and love to Girl Scouts through her roles as a leader, camp director, and board member. Many of her scouts even called her “Mom.” She was well-known for her playful and teasing demeanor. Jay Jay served as a role model to young women throughout her life, earning her the Marion Award and the St. Ann’s Award, among many others. She enjoyed biking, cross-country skiing, swimming, camping, playing cards and playing pranks, and just being with people.
She will be sadly missed by children Randy Jandourek (Neenah), Kathy Jandourek (Kimberly), and Debbie (Jim) Moore (Bow, NH); grandchildren Sarah and Kyle Moore and Mandy Jandourek; and many other relatives and friends who adored her.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings: Howard Steffens, Dorothy Rehfeldt, and Attn. Richard Steffens, as well as her beloved husband, Elmer.
Funeral services will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha on Friday, Sept 29, 2023. Visitation will be held at 10 AM followed by mass and gathering. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Patrick Church or Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes.
