Marion Jane Van Dinter, 89 of Neenah, passed away April 8, 2016 at Matthews of Irish Road. Marion was born on May 24, 1926 in Egg Harbor, WI to the late John and Delia (nee Parent) Carmody. She married Arnold C. Van Dinter in Egg Harbor, WI and they enjoyed over 51 years together.
After graduating from Sturgeon Bay High school in 1943 she continued her education at Miss Brown's Business School in Milwaukee, WI. Marion began her secretarial career in Sturgeon Bay. After starting a family, she continued her career at 1st National Bank of Appleton and Conkey's Book Store in Appleton.
Faith, family and reading were important to Marion. She enjoyed holiday family gatherings and volunteering at St. Joseph's Food Pantry. Marion looked forward to traveling. She visited Rome twice, and enjoyed cruises to both Alaska and The Panama Canal. She also ventured off to visit family on various road trips. She enjoyed the game of Bridge playing in the same club for 66 years.
She will be greatly missed by her children: James (Nancy) Van Dinter of Boise, ID, Tim (Rose) Van Dinter of Kingwood, TX, Nick (Kathy) Van Dinter of Menasha, Jane Van Dinter of Neenah, and Mark (Paula) Van Dinter of Temecula, CA. 14 grandchildren: Nicole (Chad) Bjorklund, Camile (Mike) King; Laura (Kevin) Filippone, Jason (Jenn) Van Dinter; Jeremy (Jenny) Van Dinter, Danielle (Chris) Burden; Erica Dietzler, Courtney Dietzler, Justin Nett, Brandi Van Dinter, Colton Van Dinter; Hannah (Tommy) Shinners, Boone (Rebecca) Gorges, and Clint Gorges; 11 great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Aiden, Soren, Diego, Mila, Joseph, Isabel, Payton, Arianna, Royce, and Isla.
Preceded in death by her husband Arnold C. Van Dinter; her three brothers: Alvin (Frances) Carmody, Carrol (Opal) Carmody, Rueben (Lorraine) Carmody and one sister Marguerite (Thomas) Smith.
Mass of Christian Burial for Marion will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 6:00 PM at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH (1617 W. Pine St., Appleton). Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 PM until the time of Mass. Online condolences may be expresses at www.wichmannfargo.com.
