Marion Ella Krueger (nee Groth), age 95 of Appleton, WI (formerly of Menomonee Falls, WI) joined her heavenly kingdom on September 24, 2024. She was born to Carl and Lydia (nee Grosskoph) Groth on March 20, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI. She met the love of her life, James “Jim” Krueger, while bowling with a friend and after some persistence from Jim, they were married in July of 1953. They celebrated 61 years together before his passing in 2015 and together through those years, they raised two wonderful children.
It could always be said that 3 things were most important in Marion’s life: family, friends, and faith. Until the boys were 11 and 13, she was a homemaker and took excellent care of her family. After Jim closed his shoe store, she started working at Bel Air nursing home, then Dykro, and eventually she took a position at Wacker Corporation, working there for 11 years before retiring in 2001. And even then, she took on more household projects and even some scattered part-time jobs to keep herself busy. Marion joined the Red Hat Merry Makers in 2004 and also became an active member of Stonecroft’s monthly Christian Women’s Brunch Team. You could often find Marion tending to her beautiful flower garden or taking a casual bike ride around the neighborhood. More than anything else, though, she loved her family and cherished every moment she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Marion will be deeply missed by her family and friends; her sons, Jeffery (Christina) of Glendale, AZ and Joel of Green Bay, WI; her grandsons, Joel of Phoenix, AZ and James (Alexis) of Appleton, WI; and her Great-grandchildren, Bailey and Avery of Appleton, WI.
Marion is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Lydia; her husband, Jim; and her brothers-in-law, Duane and Thomas.
In respect to Marion’s wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Smile Train using the link below.
Marion’s family would like to thank the Caring staff at Dimensions Senior Living, especially Michelle “Shorty” for their care and compassion shown during Marion’s time of need.
