Marion M. Burrows, 93, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2022, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Neenah. Marion was born on May 4, 1929, in Appleton the daughter of the late Harold and Rose Wurm. Marion married James Burrows on June 12, 1948, and they lived in a small trailer court behind Memorial Florist on Gardeners Row. A year after the 3rd son was born, the trailer was getting crowded so they bought a lot and built a house in Menasha. The family then increased with two more sons, and they have lived there ever since. Marion enjoyed being a den mother when the boys were in Cub Scouts and she loved playing bridge. She was very proud when she became a life master and taught bridge at the YMCA. After retirement, they enjoyed traveling with friends and family, which included many countries. Marion and Jim have been members of the Whiting Community Baptist Church for over 70 years.
Marion is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, James; 5 sons: Richard (Nancy), Kenneth (Debbie), Donald (Gail), William (Patricia), and Jerry (Laura) Burrows; grandchildren: Ryan (Kelsey), Ashley, Laura (Justin) Johnson, Michael Burrows, and Dave Hamers; step grandchildren: Julie (Dave) Bennett, Mathew Wilkes, Jennifer (Dave) Fetters, and Don (Carolyn) Pieper; great-grandchildren: Chloe, Landon, Cameron, and Grayson; step-great-grandchildren: Dawson, Lily, Brooke, Cole, Ella, Enzo, and Alec; sisters-in-law: Mavis Wurm and Yvonne Burrows; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marion was preceded in death by a brother: Melvin Wurm; granddaughter: Kelly (Burrows) Hamers; brothers- and sisters-in-law: John, Robert (Florence), Shirley Burrows.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Monday, December 5, 2022, at the Wichmann Funeral Home – Laemmrich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee St., Menasha. Visitation will be on Monday at the chapel from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Menasha. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin.
Marion’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at ThedaCare Medical Center, Neenah for their very professional and compassionate care given during the last 4 days.
We would like to thank our dad for the years of wonderful care he gave to our mom. Mom, we will miss you, but your struggles are over. Rest in peace!
