Marilyn Popp age 84 of Appleton, passed on March 28, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. Marilyn was born in California on October 26, 1937, and was raised by her step-father Earl Wood and her mother Mary (Bonner) Wood. As a young woman, she relocated to the east coast where she met and married Duane Popp. He preceded her in death in 2008.
In addition to raising her family, she also worked as a nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital for many years.
Marilyn is survived by her children: David (Gloria) Popp, Denise Grigg, Lisa (Richard) Sarauer, and Tracy Popp; six grandchildren: Jennifer (Alex) Pankonin, Chelsea (Jason) Stripling, Samantha (Andy) Smith, Jacob (Jessica) Werner, Joshua Werner, and Benjamin Werner; several great-grandchildren: Anneliese Strauch, Jaimee Werner, Tyler Smith, Chloe Smith, Bailey Smith, Raven Werner, Kira Werner, Tori Pankonin, Carson Pankonin, Vienna Stripling, and Leone Stripling; and a brother Earl “Woody” (Jean) Wood. She was preceded in death by her father William Taylor, her parents Earl and Mary Wood, a daughter Kim Popp, and infant daughter Lynne, and a son-in-law David Grigg.
The Christian Funeral Service for Marilyn will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 1, 2022 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel, located at 1592 Oneida Street in Fox Crossing. Rev. Timothy Wagner of Riverview Lutheran Church will officiate and inurnment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends and relatives are invited to gather at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
