Marilyn Mielke passed away peacefully on October 13, 2022, at 92 years of age at St. Paul Elder Services, Kaukauna, WI having lived a full and meaningful life.
She was born on September 7, 1930, in Appleton, WI, the eldest of four children to Jerome and Marie (Heideman) Sorensen. Siblings Jacquelyn (Harry) Kimball, Evelyn (Lowell) Tornow, a niece and nephew Ann and Sam Kimball have preceded her in death. Sister Rosalyn (James) Coenen, Sister-in-law Barbara Adrian and Brother-in-law, Albert Mengarelli, and many nieces and nephews, surviving. Marilyn married James H. Mielke on May 22, 1954 and have been together for 68 years. They have three daughters, Julia Slavick (David); Rebecca “Becky” (John) Grothe; and Lisa (Glenn) Mielke Fagaley; two grandchildren, Sarah (Ben) Malakoff; Bradley (Megan) Slavick; and three Great-Grandchildren: Norah, Arthur and Maya.
Marilyn was a gentle, loving person who having spent most of her career working for Kimberly-Clark, donated her retirement years to Hearthstone and Theda Care Hospital, both in Appleton, WI. Her love for her family, music, and creating memorable holidays were her greatest passions. May her memory be a song in your heart, and her kind-hearted spirit be a blessing to all those lives she may have touched along the way.
A service for Marilyn will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 11:30 AM, at St. Pius X Church, 500 W. Marquette St, Appleton. A visitation will be held at church prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 AM.
Donations in her memory may be made to St. Paul Elder Services.
