Strobel, Marilyn K.
Marilyn Strobel, age 55, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday morning, June 8, 2006, following a short battle with “the” cancer. She was born in Neenah on December 26, 1950, daughter of the late Victor and Katherine (Krautkramer) Holewinski. On August 16, 1980, Marilyn married Ken R. Strobel in Menasha. For many years, she operated “First Friends” family day care and was currently employed by Banta Book in Menasha. Marilyn was a nurturer who loved children, laughter and her family and friends. Marilyn enjoyed camping and reading.
She is survived by her husband: Ken Strobel of Neenah; two children: Ryan Strobel and Meghan Strobel, both of Appleton; two brothers: Charles (Jan) Holewinski of Greenville and Bill Holewinski of Milwaukee; a sister: Lorraine (Allen) Ebert of Brillion; two sisters-in-law: Betty Jo (Pierre) Lusignan of California and Sherry (Art) Walters of Appleton; a brother-in-law: Dave (Debbie) Strobel of Menasha; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother Tom Holewinski.
A memorial service for Marilyn will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 am, Monday, June 12, 2006, with Reverend Jeff Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Menasha. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30 am, until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
