Marilyn A. Bowker

Marilyn A. Bowker, age 77, passed away on December 3, 2020 after a courageous, persevering battle with pulmonary fibrosis. A native of Appleton, Wisconsin, she was born September 17, 1943, to Donald T and Clara C Bowker (Lind).

Marilyn was a woman of strong faith who exemplified the power of prayer. She was a heaven-sent angel on earth to the family and friends she so adored and an inspiration to the many others that she touched. Her visions provided comfort and a sense of peace with the world around you. She valued the little things in life that strengthened your heart or healed the day, and in her heartening ways taught everyone around her how to do the same. She symbolized how to stop and smell the roses or rosemary or to embrace the sound of a chirping bird which she could name the bird of every tune and inspire you to want to sing along no matter what the season brought.

She embraced everyone into her revered master gardens and adorning, warming home leaving you not just with an amazement of her blooming talents and ‘feels like home’ decor, but also with a warming sunshine on your heart with her catchy humor, unstoppable laughter, and wisdom. An expert baker of delectable homemade traditions and savory “goodies for the soul” the sight of her favorite chocolate chip cookies did not last long under the glass desert stand and fortunately for many ended up on a platter at your door.

Her dedication and loyalty to lifelong friends was unwavering. The moments, memories, and thoughts of her dear friends and like-family neighbors powered her spirit, courage, tenacity, and devotion. To have a visit from Marilyn was a blessing and never long enough; but filled you with friendship and love that one would keep for as long as you needed it for it was precious, genuine, and significant.

Marilyn is survived by her loving niece Tracie Younce (Bowker) and husband Adam; grandniece Sydney and grandnephew Michael; nephew Don and wife Jill; and extended Bowker and Lind family. The Bowker family would like to extend our gratitude to all of Marilyn’s cherished friends and neighbors for their support and loving outreach. In following with Marilyn’s wishes, a private service will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Appleton where Marilyn will be interned joining her beloved parents and brother David. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. She is loved “to the moon and back”.
