Marie V. Nachreiner

Age 84, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at an Appleton nursing Home. Marie was born in Bear Valley, Wisconsin on March 1, 1921, the ninth child of the late Herbert and Veronica (Volk) Nachreiner. Marie attended Holy Redeemer School and Edgewood High School in Madison. While attending school as a young woman, she worked at several different part-time jobs, including Kresge’s as well as a Madison area bakery. For thirty-seven years, she was employed by Wisconsin Telephone, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, and retired as a Chief Operator. Marie was also a member of the A.A.R. P. and Holy Spirit Parish in Kimberly. She took great pride in her home which she shared with her dear friend Esther Arnold. Marie was a most devoted caretaker for Esther, who eventually resided at Colony Oaks Care Center for several years. She also volunteered at Colony Oaks and came to be known and loved by staff and residents alike.

Marie is survived by a brother: Kenneth (Elaine) Nachreiner of Monona, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Leonard, Walter, Louis, Earl “Tom”, Harold, and Ralph; and sisters Irene Nachreiner and Frieda Dahlk; and a dear friend Esther Arnold.

The funeral liturgy for Marie will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH – KIMBERLY, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 10:30 AM until the hour of the service. A memorial fund is being established in Marie’s name.
