Marie G. Meyerhofer

Marie Meyerhofer, age 97 of Appleton, passed away at her home on Friday evening, February 3, 2023. She was born November 1, 1925 to the late Jacob and Christine (Seggelink) Horn.  She graduated 1943 from Kaukauna High School and on June 1, 1946 married the love of her life Robert Meyerhofer.

Marie dedicated her life to caring for her husband, children and home.  She truly was the definition of a “stay at home” mother.  She found comfort in the kitchen preparing meals for family and friends.  Shopping was her personal pleasure.  She and Robert supported each other through their 73-year marriage; they were a “team” with unwavering love for each other.

Marie was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She took great pride in her family and talked fondly of all of them.

Marie is survived by her ten children: Victoria Hoffman of Appleton, Charles (Cheryl) Meyerhofer of Appleton,  Celeste (Craig) Sanford of New Berlin, Guy (Sara) Meyerhofer of DePere, Lynette (Scott) Haessly of DePere, Hugh (Julie) Meyerhofer of Appleton,  Janel (Michael) Major of Appleton,  Jay (Sarah) Meyerhofer of Hortonville, Kip (Diane) Meyerhofer of Appleton, and Kristel Meyerhofer of Appleton. There are also twenty grandchildren and twenty three great-grandchildren: a sister Linda (Marty Diedrich) of Freedom, and brother Richard (Carol) Horn of Larson, and brother-in-law Larry Mills of Appleton.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, in- laws William and Olive Meyerhofer, sisters Rita (Jack) Van Roy and Judy Mills and brother Glenn (Millie) Horn, son-in-law William C. Hoffman, brother-in-law Donald (Patricia) Meyerhofer and sister-in-law Mary Jane (Norman) Rettler.

A memorial funeral mass for Marie will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday March 3, 2023 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr Jack Mullarkey officiating.  Family and friends are invited to gather directly at the church on Friday from 10:30 am until the time of the service.
